How come in america there is more makeup than in the UK?

In America there is a larger market and make up brands make more money from sales than in the UK.sometimes (if we are lucky) they are a huge success and then they go global so we finally get new brands.Apparently we have better quality makeup in pharmacies like Boots and Superdrug (:How come in america there is more makeup than in the UK?

Expand beyond ELF. While elf is based in the U.S. they are Chinese manufactured, and are not representative of U.S. brands. Not even by a long shot. I live in the U.S. and do not use elf, to me elf is more of a starter makeup brand for little girls, rather than older teens, or young women either in college or work. I would not be caught dead at work with elf.


I use three brands, chanel (when I have money to spend), Coonobabe (a USA made makeup brand, ship 4 free, and do not test on animals), and Isabella Pelle ( made in USA, ship 4 free as well, and also do not test on animals).


Coonobabe - quality similar to bobbi brown, chanel except much less expensive


Isabella Pelle - excellent skincare and great lip plumpers


So it really depends on how you want to look. But by no means think every girl in the USA uses elf, That is simply a myth. Have you ever seen a runway model sproting elf makeup? I don't think so, cheap makeup is just that....cheap.How come in america there is more makeup than in the UK?
British girls are prettier and require less make-up than Amercian girls.





However, American girls have nicer teeth. That's because you guys over there have excellent private healthcare provision. Whereas we have the rubbish NHS here in the UK (oooh topical!)

Can I ask you a person question. What exactly is it with the UK and this hard on you all have for America with the stupid questions that are asked just to attack us and compare us to the UK as if there was something special about the UK.
Its just a cultural difference. People here think a lot of makeup will make them look better (which it usually doesn't) while in the UK they don't really believe that.





I'm form the US btw.
because we have hollywood. television is everything...so we have more ads and thus more makeup.
Since when do we have more makeup? Has this been proven? Is there a legitimate source for this information? Do a study, then get back to us.
I really don't know! People here like makeup just as much as Americans, yet we have such a smaller choice range :( I wish we had more.
